If you don’t use the right toothbrush when taking care of your teeth, you won’t be able to clean your teeth as effectively as you otherwise could. That’s why Dr. Pam Crumrine recommends you follow these tips to help you pick the best toothbrush possible so your oral health stays in tip-top shape.
Soft bristles
The best way to remove plaque and other debris from your mouth is by using a brush that has soft bristles. Harder bristles have a tendency to push debris further into the cracks in between teeth, instead of teasing them out. Soft bristles are also far better on your enamel.
Round heads
Have you ever wondered why the brush our team uses here at Pamela Crumrine DDS is round? That’s because small, round-headed brushes are much more effective at reaching areas of the mouth that are hard to clean.
Powered brushes are best
Electric brushes with electronic round heads are the best at cleaning, because they’re essentially what we use here at our office to clean your teeth. These move in circular motions – the best for cleaning teeth – and are particularly effective at removing plaque.
While you may not think about the type of toothbrush you use as incredibly important, it is. If you still feel you need help in picking the right brush, call us today at 724-775-4860.
